Du spent months in Yunnan's Jino communities, working closely with local cultural heritage bearers to base the work on the Jino people's traditional drum dance and music. She worked closely with He Guiying, an inheritor of the Jino drum, a national-level intangible cultural heritage, and the children of the Jino ethnic group.

The performance tells the poetic story of a Jino girl raised by her grandmother. The girl's life is filled with dreams of the sea and the ancient stories of the forest. As modernity encroaches on her community, her desire to see the ocean grows, and the magical forest world around her begins to change.
