Chinese and Indian experts and scholars reached a consensus that stronger bilateral ties between the world's two largest developing countries are vital for their development and global stability at a seminar marking the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and India held in Beijing on Sept 23.

Pankaj Saran, convener of India's NatStrat and former deputy national security adviser, noted that the two countries should properly manage differences and strengthen cooperation within frameworks such as BRICS and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.

Chen Bo, president of the China Institute of International Studies (CIIS), stressed that friendly cooperation between China and India has remained the dominant trend over the past 75 years, calling for greater mutual respect and win-win cooperation.

The experts and scholars also emphasized deepening political trust, practical cooperation, cultural exchanges, and multilateral collaboration to bring greater benefits to both nations and the world.

The event brought together experts and scholars from India's Vivekananda International Foundation and Jawaharlal Nehru University, as well as the CIIS, the Institute of International Strategic Studies of the Party School of the CPC Central Committee, China Foreign Affairs University, and the China Institutes of Contemporary International Relations.
