The mCard can be topped up via Alipay's "Group Buying - Macau Pass" mini-program.

Macau Pass and Alipay launched a new top-up service for mCards on Friday, which allows users to recharge anytime through the MPay or Alipay apps in order to pay for public transport and facilitate other day-to-day transactions across Macao.

The initiative is designed to make travel and consumption more convenient for tourists from the Chinese mainland while advancing the integration of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

The mCard has long served as a key tool for visitors from the mainland, offering discounts on buses and light rail, as well as supporting payments for dining, shopping and entertainment. As part of the new service, users can also check their balance and review recent transactions.

Industry observers said they expected the initiative to enhance cross-border mobility and contribute to building a "smart living circle" in the region.
