McDonald's China to invest 400m yuan in talent development
The talent development system is a driving force of the restaurant chain's growing business in China.
"When Hamburger University was established in China in 2010, we had just over 1,000 restaurants nationwide," Phyllis Cheung, CEO of McDonald's China, said. "Today, we have more than 7,400, serving over 1.3 billion customers annually."
"Behind this growth is Hamburger University, the cornerstone of our talent development system—continuously cultivating operational leaders and embedding the QSC culture of Quality, Service, and Cleanliness," Cheung said. "It is a vital force ensuring that we can always operate outstanding restaurants."
Each year, nearly 200,000 employees access Hamburger University courses via the online e-learning platform. Amid a growing need for talent, a larger restaurant network, and accelerated digitalization, Hamburger University will continue to upgrade its platform, focusing on delivering personalized learning experiences, building an industry learning ecosystem and supporting the full development of people.
