Premier makes field trips to Gansu, Qinghai
Premier Li Qiang made fact-finding trips to Northwest China's Gansu and Qinghai provinces from Monday to Tuesday, calling for the building of a modern industrial system that reflects local characteristics and advantages to bring more benefits to the people.
In Lanzhou, the capital of Gansu, Li visited an ion technology company and a high-tech industrial park, highlighting the province's solid foundation in developing heavy ion and space technologies.
He emphasized the need to support enterprises and research institutions in increasing their investment in research and development, innovating talent cultivation and incentive mechanisms, and strengthening core technological capabilities.
In Xining, the capital of Qinghai, Li visited a big-data hub and a center for green computing power and ecological monitoring.
Citing the province's notable advantage in developing clean energy and green computing power, he called for efforts to enhance the synergy between these strengths and to further advance the development of green computing power.
Vice-president meets with foreign guests
Vice-President Han Zheng held separate talks on Tuesday with Prime Minister of Myanmar U Nyo Saw, Deputy Prime Minister of Laos Bounthong Chitmany, and Vongsey Vissoth, Cambodia's deputy prime minister and minister in charge of the Office of the Council of Ministers.
The meetings were held in Nanning, South China's Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, ahead of the 22nd China-ASEAN Expo and China-ASEAN Business and Investment Summit. Han will attend and address the event's opening ceremony on Wednesday.
During the talks, Han expressed China's readiness to strengthen ties with the three Southeast Asian partners and deepen practical cooperation.
