SANAA -- The death toll from Israeli airstrikes on Yemen's capital Sanaa rose to four, with 67 others injured, officials at the Houthi-run Health Ministry told Xinhua Sunday night.

They said the toll could increase, as several of the wounded remain in critical condition.

The strikes, carried out Sunday afternoon, targeted fuel and power stations, the presidential palace complex, and other civilian facilities, according to the Houthis.

Israel's military said in a statement that the operation was launched in retaliation for repeated missile attacks on its territory by the Houthis in Yemen.

In response, the Houthis vowed further action, saying their attacks on Israel and Israeli-linked ships in the Red Sea would continue until the war in Gaza ends and the blockade on the enclave is lifted.
