On Aug 22, the First China-Africa Human Rights Seminar was held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. "China is helping Africa to take their destiny into their own hands," said Antoine Roger Lokongo, director of the Department of International Relations at Joseph Kasa-Vubu University, Democratic Republic of the Congo. When talking about the essential differences between China and Western countries in their practices in Africa, he stated that Western powers went to Africa only for exploitation, while China is there to support Africa through win-win cooperation and sharing technology.
