Emergency teams are working around the clock to repair a critical provincial highway in Yuzhong county, Gansu province, after flash floods triggered by heavy rains caused severe damage to transport infrastructure.
The hardest-hit provincial highway 104, which connects to Yuzhong's worst-affected areas, sustained multiple breaches and remains partially closed, with full restoration expected by 6 pm Saturday.
Preliminary statistics show rescue teams have already cleared 109 cubic meters of landslides and 26,050 cubic meters of mudslide debris using 110 vehicles, with 414 emergency personnel participating in the operation.
