Huawei releases chip software ecosystem

Chinese tech giant Huawei has announced the full open-source release of its Ascend chip software ecosystem, aiming to support users in exploring its deep potential and to undertake customized development independently. Known as CANN (compute architecture for neural networks), the software serves as a bridge between high-level AI training frameworks and Ascend chips, allowing users to access computing power without dealing with chip-level complexities.

Yuan weakens against greenback

The central parity rate of the Chinese currency renminbi, or the yuan, weakened 37 pips to 7.1382 against the US dollar on Friday, according to the China Foreign Exchange Trade System.
