Jinan Theater to open under new cultural partnership

In a significant boost for Jinan's cultural landscape, the Jinan Theater has been announced as the centerpiece of a new operational partnership between China Arts and Entertainment Group Ltd and a local company from Jinan. The agreement, signed in Beijing on Friday, will see the two organizations jointly operate the venue to enrich the city's cultural offerings and drive the growth of its cultural industry.

The collaboration will position Jinan Theater as the core platform to integrate China Theatres' nationwide resources with itslocal strengths. It will create Shandong province's first integrated cultural landmark that combines artistic performances, cultural heritage, and cultural-tourism fusion.

Situated at the southeast corner of Quancheng Square, the 8,700-square-meter venue features an 870-seat main auditorium and a versatile black box space. The partnership will combine CAEG's national performance network with Jinan's local strengths to deliver world-class shows, develop local cultural brands, and integrate culture with tourism.

Guo Liqun, General Manager of CAEG, described the "Jinan Theater Model" as an innovative approach tailored to current economic and market conditions. It serves as a pilot for fully market-driven commercial theater operations in prime locations of first-tier, new first-tier, and provincial capital cities.

According to the agreement, the Jinan Theater will officially open in late September with a series of high-quality productions presented by national-level performing arts troupes.
