MOSCOW - It is important for Moscow and New Delhi to determine the timing of new talks between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, TASS reported Thursday, citing Russian Security Council Secretary Sergey Shoigu.

"A multi-level trust-based political dialogue is effectively functioning between our countries now," Shoigu said Thursday at a meeting with India's National Security Advisor Ajit Doval.

"It is important to determine the dates for the next full-scale negotiations between our leaders," he said.

Russia is committed to further active cooperation with India to forge a more equitable world order and uphold the primacy of international law, Shoigu said.

Doval welcomed Putin's planned India visit, saying, "It is vital that this visit paves new paths for our future cooperation and delivers concrete, impactful results from the leaders' summit."
