Hebei deploys 500 rescuers to landslide-hit villages

At Nantaizi Xigou village, also in Chengde, the death toll stood at eight as of Wednesday morning, with four still missing, according to a morning report by China Central Television.
The critical County Road 516 was restored on Tuesday after repairs, enabling heavy equipment to reach the village. Residents have been evacuated from high-risk zones, and the injured are being treated.
As of Tuesday, 82 rescue teams are operating in the worst-hit zones in Luanping county, with rescue supplies in place and being distributed.
Across the province, rains and floods have impacted 356,000 people, forcing 44,000 evacuations as of 6 pm on Tuesday, according to China Central Television.
