Qinghai strikes a green symphony in energy development

Northwest China's Qinghai province made a remarkable achievement in green power development.

The installed capacity of clean energy has reached 71.53 gigawatts (GW) as of June 2025, accounting for 94.23 percent of the provincial total power capacity. In the first half of 2025, clean energy generation in Qinghai hit 53.23 billion kilowatt-hours (kWh), making up 89.88 percent of the provincial total electricity output.

Qinghai has transmitted a cumulative total of 106.763 billion kWh of electricity to other regions during the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-2025). Of this, clean energy contributed 96.517 billion kWh, exceeding 90 percent of the total.
