Guangdong children's art gala finals begin


The 13th Guangdong Children's Art Gala Finals kicked off on Thursday in Dongguan, Guangdong province. It is the largest stage for young children in the province to showcase their artistic talents and boost their cultural confidence, organizers said.
The event runs until Monday and includes four categories: music, dance, drama, and folk art. It also features exhibits covering drawing, painting, calligraphy, seal carving, and handmade crafts. Thousands of young participants ranging from kindergarteners to teenagers will compete in the final stages.
The five-day gala will see one final each for comprehensive music and dance, music, and folk art, and two each for dance and drama. It will wrap up with a closing and award ceremony.
These competitions and exhibitions aim to nurture creativity and cultural appreciation among young participants, and foster a love for the arts that transcends traditional boundaries.
The gala was first held in 1986. It is jointly hosted by the Guangdong Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism and the Dongguan city government.
It is jointly organized by the Dongguan city bureau of radio, television, tourism and sports and the Guangdong Cultural Center.
