Artworks of various mediums by 46 Chinese and Italian artists are now on show at the Galleria Nazionale d'Arte Moderna e Contemporanea Roma, inviting local audiences in Rome to reflect on the past and explore how culture can bridge differences and foster global unity.

The ongoing exhibition until Sept 14, titled East and West, is a collaboration between the Italian museum and Shanghai Academy of Fine Arts to inspire cross-cultural dialogues and deeper communications. It presents shared ideas and varied perspectives shaped by personal and collective experiences in a global context.

The exhibition program East and West was initiated by Shanghai Academy of Fine Arts in late 2021 and has been held thrice. The previous two shows were held in Shanghai.

The current exhibition at the Rome museum, a time-honored institution founded in 1883, also celebrates the 55th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Italy this year.
