China's policy of attracting foreign investment remains unchanged, and the door will only open wider, said the country's top commerce official.

During his meeting with Jensen Huang, president and CEO of Nvidia, the United States-based semiconductor company, in Beijing on Thursday, Commerce Minister Wang Wentao said China hopes multinational companies, including Nvidia, will provide high-quality and reliable products and services to Chinese customers, given the country's vast market and strong innovation environment.

Huang said the Chinese market is highly attractive. Nvidia is willing to deepen cooperation with its Chinese partners in the field of artificial intelligence, according to a statement released by the ministry on Friday.

In a separate statement issued by the ministry on the same day, China urged the United States to abandon zero-sum thinking and continue removing a range of unwarranted economic and trade restrictions on China.

In response to a media inquiry, a ministry spokesperson noted that China has taken note of the US government's recent move to approve the sale of Nvidia's H20 chips to China.
