Top legislator stresses high-quality legislative work
China's top legislator Zhao Leji has called on legislators to ensure the high-quality performance of their work in legislation, oversight and deputy-related matters, thereby contributing to the successful conclusion of the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-25).
Zhao, who is a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and chairman of the National People's Congress Standing Committee, made the remarks during his trip to Qinghai province from Sunday to Tuesday.
When visiting the cities of Xining and Haidong, Zhao made his way to the workplaces of legislators and to enterprises and the countryside, engaging in conversations with legislators and local residents to gather their opinions and advice on promoting the high-quality development of legislative work.
Top political adviser urges sustained pairing assistance to Xinjiang
The 10th national meeting on pairing assistance to Xinjiang was held in Hotan, Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, from Monday to Wednesday.
When addressing the meeting, Wang Huning, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, emphasized the importance of fully, faithfully and comprehensively implementing the Party's strategy for governing Xinjiang in the new era.
Wang, who is also chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, urged consistent efforts for assisting Xinjiang in contributing to the long-term security and stability of the autonomous region.
Vice-premier calls for more efficient policy implementation
Vice-Premier Ding Xuexiang made a fact-finding trip from Monday to Wednesday to the provinces of Heilongjiang and Jilin, where he emphasized the need for more efficient policy implementation and sustained economic recovery efforts.
