Art inspired by nature's scale

One who has seen Chen Hong's paintings would find it hard to forget the vibrancy of colors flowing freely on canvas, like a scene from dreams, an overlooking view of the Earth's diverse landscapes, or an imagined image of the galaxy.
Boundless, an ongoing exhibition by Chen at the Topred Center for Contemporary Art in Xiamen, Fujian province, features dozens of her paintings. The show invites viewers to explore the vastness of nature and the universe — themes that have long inspired human imagination and creativity. The exhibition runs through July 31.
Chen's brushstrokes are drawn from her diverse experiences of living, working and exhibiting around the world, to offer her thoughts of the similarities and differences between Eastern and Western aesthetics and a search for cultural identity.
