A total of 12 projects with a combined value exceeding 30 billion yuan ($4.18 billion) were signed at an industrial project matchmaking event among BRICS partners in Beijing on Saturday.

The event, hosted by the BRICS Innovation Center based in Xiamen, Fujian province, gathered nearly 200 representatives from BRICS members and partner countries, and focused on building an innovative cooperation platform that integrates project matchmaking, technological exchange, and industrial collaboration.

The matchmaking event is aimed at enhancing pragmatic BRICS cooperation and advancing the BRICS Partnership on the New Industrial Revolution.

Cui Yonghui, secretary of the Xiamen Municipal Party Committee, said that the matchmaking event has selected a group of high-quality industrial projects covering key frontier areas such as digital manufacturing, green and low-carbon development, healthcare, and scientific research and innovation, which carry enormous market potential and offer broad space for cooperation.

Victor Queiroz, general manager of the Asia-Pacific Office for the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency, said that cooperation among BRICS countries cannot be achieved without supportive enterprises and innovative projects, and the matchmaking event is an important platform for participants to have in-depth exchanges and identify opportunities for cooperation.

The BRICS mechanism serves as a convenient platform for enterprise collaboration and information sharing, he said, adding that he looks forward to strengthening cooperation with other countries through this platform.

"We firmly believe that unity and cooperation among BRICS countries will bring renewed momentum to global economic growth."

Queiroz said ApexBrasil expects to facilitate export of Brazilian products, especially agricultural products, to China and attract more Chinese investment to Brazil, and further promote bilateral cooperation in areas such as new energy, digital economy and green agriculture.
