Cainiao, the logistics arm of Chinese tech heavyweight Alibaba Group, announced on Monday that it has established a cross-border logistics network among six Gulf countries in the Middle East, with the shortest delivery time being three days.

The move marks a significant breakthrough in Cainiao's logistics capability to different countries, and a landmark in Chinese logistics companies' overseas expansion, the company said.

Logistics services to the six Gulf countries, including the United Arab Emirates, Oman, Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia will include customized logistics demands from local e-commerce platforms and cross-border sellers.

It will greatly reduce the cross-border logistics costs and help merchants enhance their competitiveness in the local market, Cainiao added.
