China Health Promotion Foundation launches cholesterol management program

The China Health Promotion Foundation recently hosted an event in Beijing aimed at enhancing public health awareness, marking the launch of the China health knowledge communication incentive program - cholesterol health management communication plan (2025).
The event featured the unveiling of "Tips on Healthy Lifestyle and Cholesterol Management", a guide developed by five health institutions and supported by Nestle Yiyang and JD.com.
The document emphasizes the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle and effectively managing "bad cholesterol" to prevent cardiovascular diseases.
The tips focus on seven crucial aspects to improve public understanding of cholesterol and its impact on health, including understanding the dangers of bad cholesterol, scientific weight management, regular lipid testing and dietary improvements.
Lai Jianqiang, director of the self-health management branch of the China Association of Health Promotion and Education, said that abnormal blood lipid levels pose significant health risks, emphasizing the need for a healthy lifestyle as a preventive measure against disease.
Research findings shared by Yang Qiulan, deputy director of the health communication branch of the Chinese Preventive Medicine Association, revealed that the average heart age of participants in a study was eight years older than their actual age, underscoring the importance of regular testing and awareness of cholesterol levels.
The comprehensive dietary guidelines encourage individuals to consume 25 to 40 grams of dietary fiber daily, highlighting the inclusion of whole foods and reducing high cholesterol intake for better health outcomes.
