Shanghai keen to build on IP reputation

Shanghai has achieved steady and high-quality development in the field of intellectual property, or IP, offering a fine environment for businesses in innovation and operation, according to official sources.
"Shanghai has constantly deepened the implementation of the municipal blueprint for IP development in the past year, enhanced the efficiency of IP protection, and carried out IP protection tasks on par with international high-standards, so as to create favorable environment for various business entities at home and abroad," said Rui Wenbiao, director-general of the Shanghai Intellectual Property Administration at a recent conference about Shanghai's IP work in 2025.
With a target of building itself into a high land of international IP rights, Shanghai will continue to deepen innovation and reform in the field.
It also aims to promote high-quality creation, application, protection and service, and high-level international cooperation on IP rights, Rui said, to provide all business investment, operation, grow and development in Shanghai with strong IP support.
