China friendship gala in Moscow marks anniversary of WWII victory

A commemorative gala celebrating the anniversary of victory in the World Anti-Fascist War and the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression was held at Moscow's Rosa Theater on June 7, weaving historical reflection with cultural diplomacy.
Co-hosted by the Russia-China New Silk Road Cultural Development Foundation and the state-funded Regional Public Center under the Moscow City Council, with organizational support from the Russian Chamber of Commerce for Shanxi Entrepreneurs and the World Horizon International Business and Culture Exchange Center, the event drew more than 200 dignitaries, veterans, and artists from both nations.
Feng Litao, minister-counselor for cultural affairs at China's embassy in Russia, conveyed Ambassador Zhang Hanhui's greetings, praising the organizers for "preserving our shared legacy through artistic solidarity".
Galina Kulikova, first vice-president of the Russia-China Friendship Association, hailed the gala as "a living monument to our imperishable brotherhood forged in wartime trenches".
Gao Xianzhong, president of the Russian Chamber of Commerce for Shanxi Entrepreneurs, framed the evening's mission, which was titled Remember History and Create the Future.
He talked about the two nations' contributions, as primary Asian and European theaters of resistance, noting that "Chinese and Soviet soldiers wrote epic chapters in blood, cementing an unbreakable friendship that reshaped human civilization".
The gala featured captivating performances by Chinese and Russian artists, including renditions of patriotic songs, folk dances, and bilingual poetry recitations.
Attendees had the chance to immerse themselves in the cultural tapestry, reflecting on history's lessons while celebrating peace through a Sino-Russian artistic dialogue.
