The third installment of the "Shanghai in My Mind" exhibition opened on June 6 local time at Milan's historic Rotonda della Besana, showcasing Shanghai's urban charm with art pieces collected from global artists at the 400-year-old cultural landmark.
This year marks the 50th anniversary of China-EU diplomatic relations and the 55th anniversary of China-Italy diplomatic ties. The opening ceremony began with a cross-cultural musical performance featuring a duet of Chinese pipa and Western violin performing Jasmine Flower and Nessun Dorma.
"The Rotonda della Besana has become a cultural nexus connecting Shanghai and Milan, writing a new chapter in the sister cities' cooperative development," said a representative from the Milan mayor's office.
