Cotti Coffee inks agreement with Rwanda to develop a demonstration park

Cotti Coffee, a top-tier Chinese brand in the ready-made coffee space with significant influence at home and abroad, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on strategic collaboration with Rwanda's Ministry of Agriculture and Animal Resources, in a drive to help Chinese flavors gain more international prominence.
According to the memorandum inked on June 6 in Kigali, the Rwandan capital, Cotti Coffee International will invest in establishing China-Rwanda International Coffee Industry Development Demonstration Park in Rwanda, helping elevate the overall standard of Rwanda's coffee industry and resonate with the Belt and Road Initiative.
Cotti Coffee International, a prominent global coffee chain brand, spans 28 countries and regions worldwide with over 14,000 stores, ranking third globally.
In attendance at the signing ceremony were Dr Mark Cyubahiro Bagabe, minister of agriculture of Rwanda, Gao Zhiqiang, commercial counselor of the Chinese Embassy in Rwanda, Zheng Weijie, president of international business at Cotti Coffee International, as well as senior officials from the Rwanda Agricultural Development Board and the Agricultural Export Development Authority. Each side delivered insightful remarks during the event.
It has been learned that this demonstration park will encompass a "Smart Coffee Plantation Demonstration Zone," an "International Coffee Processing Demonstration Zone" and an "International Coffee Trading Demonstration Zone," aiming to propel the high-quality development of Rwanda's coffee industry.
Furthermore, both parties will collaborate on regularly organizing the Global Rwanda Coffee Cultural Festival, enhancing the global recognition and reputation of Rwanda coffee.
Rwanda, situated in the heart of Africa, boasts unique geographical features and abundant agricultural resources, positioning itself as an emerging player in the global specialty coffee sector. Rwanda coffee is predominantly cultivated in volcanic hilly areas, where the ample rainfall and significant diurnal temperature variations contribute to the beans' distinctive sweet fruit aroma and refreshing acidity.
Meanwhile, driven by technology and adhering to the brand philosophy that "good coffee stems from good ingredients," Cotti Coffee International strives to offer customers high-quality, cost-effective and convenient products along with a vibrant and fashionable brand experience.
Industry observers note that this collaboration not only underpins Cotti Coffee International's rapid growth by securing stable and high-quality coffee bean resources but also elevates the overall standard of Rwanda's coffee industry, resonating with the Belt and Road Initiative.
