Xi signs order to promulgate rules on military facilities
Xi Jinping, chairman of the Central Military Commission, has signed an order to promulgate regulations on developing military facilities.
The regulations, which will take effect on Aug 1, focus on enhancing combat readiness and aim to adapt to the new command system and support mechanisms.
The regulations, comprising 11 chapters and 63 articles, also standardize the fundamental principles, management frameworks, operational procedures and institutional requirements for military facility development.
Vice-premier stresses fairness, safety in gaokao
Vice-Premier Ding Xuexiang inspected preparations for the college entrance examination and energy sector reforms in Shanxi province on Tuesday and Wednesday, emphasizing the need to uphold fairness and ensure safety in the national examination, also known as gaokao.
The examination is crucial for national development and the future of families, Ding said during a visit to the provincial Admissions and Examination Management Center and a test site at a Taiyuan middle school. He urged authorities to safeguard fairness as the "lifeline" in examination and admission reforms, and gaokao organization.
He stressed the importance of rigorous test paper security, anti-cheating measures and compassionate support for students.
While inspecting a local company affiliated with the State Grid, Ding urged the energy-rich province to lead the way in the clean and efficient use of coal, improve policies for new energy integration and accelerate the development of a new energy system.
At an air quality monitoring station, he called for the optimization of industrial, energy and transportation structures to fundamentally address pollution issues.
Vice-president meets with US delegation
Vice-President Han Zheng met on Thursday with a US delegation attending the China-US High-Level Track-Two Dialogue in Beijing.
Han said the relationship between China and the United States is one of the most important bilateral relationships in the world.
Noting that China-US relations are at a crucial historical juncture, he said the principles of mutual respect, peaceful coexistence and win-win cooperation are not only beneficial for both countries, but also necessary for global peace and development.
Han expressed the hope that the high-level dialogue would pool wisdom of people with great insights from both countries to enhance the US' knowledge and understanding of China, and jointly promote the stable, healthy and sustainable development of bilateral ties.
The US delegates said the high-level dialogue will help both sides better understand each other and provide more ideas conducive to the development of bilateral relations.
