
State Grid's efforts power future community


From an aerial view, the roof of the neighborhood center in the future community shines with a deep blue light, which is continuously outputting green electricity. In the center of the community, the verdant energy storage battery unit compartments complement the green bamboo, with an indoor setup in preparation.
"All the roofs of the residential activity buildings are equipped with photovoltaic panels, connecting new energy bus charging stations and photovoltaics. After exploring the application scenarios of integrated solar storage community bus stations, residents are able to enjoy the convenience of taking green new energy buses right downstairs without leaving the community," said Xing Enkai, the automation specialist of the distribution network at the State Grid Shaoxing Power Supply Company's operations and maintenance department, adding that in case of a power outage in the substation, the public energy storage acts as a power bank, enabling users to be unaware of the power outage.
When entering the future community, many people were surprised by the absence of walls. Seamless connectivity is a feature of the future community with no boundaries. New energy vehicles race along the roads, while smart streetlights on both sides have undergone intelligent transformations.
"The construction of community streetlights utilizes smart devices, integrating functions such as charging and alarms based on 5G technology and zero-trust gateway. It is creating platform-level data control terminals, and providing users with the most direct intelligent power services," Xing said, noting that not only residents in the future community can enjoy convenient new energy vehicle charging services, but also passersby who suddenly run out of battery on their phones can simply place them on the platform under the streetlights to recharge.
