Chinese smartphone maker Nubia launches handset aimed at gaming, esports fans

Chinese smartphone manufacturer Nubia Technology unveiled on Monday its latest handset targeting gaming and esports enthusiasts, the Red Magic 10S Pro series, as the company aims to capture a bigger share of the mid-range to high-end mobile phone market.
The new phone is equipped with enhanced imaging chips and a battery with a 7500 mAh capacity. It features a 6.85-inch OLED display panel that supports a 144Hz refresh rate, and artificial intelligence-powered voice interaction functionality, bringing a smoother and faster experience to games.
According to market research company Mordor Intelligence, the revenue of the global mobile gaming market is expected to rise from $100.54 billion in 2024 to $164.81 billion in 2029, with the compound annual growth rate reaching 10.39 percent during the growth forecast period.
Data from market consultancy International Data Corp showed that China's smartphone market shipped 71.6 million units in the first quarter, a 3.3 percent year-on-year increase, fueled by the government subsidies that extended to digital products, such as mobile phones.
