Remodeled community a hot spot for visitors

Adorned with remodeled residential buildings, modern pocket parks, vintage Soviet-style red brick buildings and quaint cafes and restaurants, a once rundown neighborhood in Chongqing has become a hot destination for visitors.

Located in Jiulongpo district, Minzhu Village Community was built between the 1950s and 1990s as a residential area for a former State-owned factory. But after the relocation of the factory, the living conditions deteriorated as a result of poor management.

A renovation project was launched in 2022, which has been included in national pilot programs.
