Tiexian Reef: The New Flashpoint
Share - WeChat

Two Philippine government vessels illegally entered the waters near China's Zhubi and Tiexian reefs in the South China Sea. In response, the China Coast Guard took professional and lawful countermeasures, including using water cannons for the first time as a warning in waters near Tiexian Reef.
Despite their claiming to conduct scientific research or fishery management, the two Philippine vessels have repeatedly engaged in provocations under the guise of civilian operations.
China's position is clear: it has indisputable sovereignty over the Nansha Islands and adjacent waters. The Philippines must stop infringing on China's territorial sovereignty and violating the Declaration on the Conduct of Parties in the South China Sea.
