Shanghai's Hero Esports league winners secure place at EWC

The Hero Esports Asian Champions League, Asia's first international, multi-title esports tournament hosted by the region's largest esports company Hero Esports, wrapped up Sunday in Shanghai.

With a total prize pool of $2 million, the ACL Grand Finals took place in the city's three venues in synchrony from Friday to Sunday. Among the tournaments nine esports game titles and competitions, Xtreme Gaming beat Team Tidebound 3-2 in the Dota 2 final on Friday, while Tyloo won over Lynn Vision Gaming 2-0 in the final Counter-Strike 2 event on the same day. Baisha Gaming took the crown of the Crossfire event on Saturday and Talent Gaming continued its impressive victory with a 4-2 win over Dragon Ranger Gaming in the Honor of Kings event. Winners of the four titles have secured a direct pass to compete in the Esports World Cup (EWC), the world's largest comprehensive international esports tournament taking place annually in Saudi Arabia in summer.

Moreover, multiple direct passes to the EWC were offered to both Chinese and Asia-Pacific representatives in the Teamfight Tactics, Street Fighter 6 and Valorant Champions Tour competitions. All three events concluded on Sunday, with Team Falcons taking a revenge victory over T1 by 3-0 in the Teamfight Tactics final, DRX defeating Paper Rex 3-1 in the Valorant games and Japanese veteran Tokido standing on top in the Street Fighter 6 final.

Besides, the Eagle Area claimed first place in the Legend Cup of League of Legends, and Team China won the champion's trophy of the Delta Force event.

Along with the thrilling esports competitions, the ACL grand finals also featured the notable gaming festival DreamHack, which made its China debut with immersive, interactive and comprehensive experiences for global esports enthusiasts.
