Showcasing its latest innovative products at a display industry expo, Chinese leading display panel manufacturer BOE Technology Group is integrating AI across its manufacturing, product development, and business operations to accelerate innovation and drive the development of the global display industry.

Jiang Xingqun, senior vice president and co-chief technology officer at BOE, highlighted the company's AI-driven plan in an interview with China Daily at the Display Week exhibition, which attracted attendees and exhibitors from nearly 30 countries spanning the full spectrum of the display ecosystem, from materials to system integration.

"In an era defined by rapid technological advancement, AI has emerged as the central driver of the Fourth Industrial Revolution," Jiang said. "BOE is actively integrating AI across its product portfolio, offering customers high-quality and competitive solutions in various scenarios, such as officing, entertainment, and healthcare."

In manufacturing, BOE has developed a specialized AI model for display production, known as the "BOE Display Industrial Model". This model has effectively addressed critical bottlenecks, significantly improving production efficiency, product quality, and cost control, according to Jiang.

On the product front, BOE is advancing AI-powered solutions across a range of applications, from officing and entertainment to healthcare and AI-generated content. "The company aims to provide users with better experiences and higher productivities by AI product innovations," said Jiang.

The company's innovations include a 65-inch 4K AI television featuring multimodal interaction technologies, which was showcased at the exhibition. The TV is equipped with BOE's AI voice assistant and features AI functions such as image recognition for shopping, virtual AI companions, and intelligent content recommendations.

This TV allows real-time online shopping and intuitive voice control, bringing convenience and enjoyment to home living. It also adapts to the viewer's environment, delivering energy-efficient performance and enhanced eye protection, according to the company.

Additionally, the company's OLED power-saving algorithms and display enhancement technologies have been incorporated into products, simultaneously lowering energy consumption and improving image quality.

In the system solutions space, BOE debuted its C100 Series Smart Board, which integrates seven industry-first and twelve industry-leading features, such as Al-powered meeting assistants based on large language models, device control, and handwriting acceleration. "The C100 enables streamlined meeting minutes generation through BOE's AI officing platform, already earning high customer praise in widespread corporate use," said Jiang.

In the operation part, BOE is using AI to optimize its business functions, from market intelligence to production planning and supply chain management. "These initiatives are helping BOE establish a streamlined, responsive, and data-driven management system that improves operational efficiency and decision-making," said Jiang.

Beyond current applications, BOE plans to deepen the integration of AI with big data, the Internet of Things, and green technologies to sustain innovation across its portfolio. The company also aims to expand global partnerships to build a high-value, sustainable smart ecosystem that delivers greater value to customers worldwide.

Jiang said that China's vibrant manufacturing landscape offers a fertile ground for industrial AI deployment. By leveraging these opportunities, BOE seeks not only to strengthen its own position but also to contribute to the prosperity of the display industry through ecosystem collaboration and innovation, he added.

"AI is now a critical force for industrial transformation," Jiang said, reaffirming BOE's commitment to using AI as a cornerstone of its next stage of growth and leadership.
