Oppo bets big on AI phones

Chinese smartphone vendor Oppo has unveiled its latest Reno14 smartphone series, designed to cater to the dynamic imaging and AI-driven demands of young consumers as it aims to stand out amid intensified competition.
Packed with advanced camera technology, enhanced software capabilities, and intelligent features, the new lineup aims to elevate youth-centric imaging and AI experiences.
Integrating DeepSeek's AI technology, the new "XiaoBu Memory" feature intelligently recognizes, analyzes, and organizes on-screen information—from text to images—streamlining tasks such as note-taking, scheduling, and content archiving. This innovation positions the Reno14 as a productivity powerhouse for students and young professionals, Oppo said.
According to a latest report by research firm TechInsights, China's smartphone market achieved strong growth in the first quarter of 2025, with shipments rising 9 percent year-on-year to 68.7 million units. This marks the fifth consecutive quarter of expansion, reflecting sustained market momentum.
