JD offers major subsidies for shopping carnival

Chinese e-commerce giant JD announced on Thursday that it will offer each consumer over 1,000 yuan ($138.7) daily shopping subsidy and give discounts for commodities included in the country's consumer goods trade-in program during the June 18 shopping carnival.
JD said it will simplify promotional methods, and provide direct price cuts and consumption coupons for consumers, who can enjoy additional subsidies when purchasing smartphones, digital products and home appliances under the national trade-in program.
China announced in January a raft of measures to expand the scope of the consumer goods trade-in program amid efforts to boost domestic demand and spur economic growth.
During the mid-year shopping spree, more high-quality goods from the country's exporters will be provided to consumers as JD announced a 200 billion yuan "export-to-domestic sales" support plan in April to help export-oriented enterprises to expand sales in the domestic market.
The company has stepped up efforts to upgrade supply chains and improve logistics services, and offer artificial intelligence-powered digital humans in livestreaming rooms, to help merchants enhance operations and marketing efficiency.
Moreover, JD's offline stores, JD Mall, will also participate in the shopping spree, offering consumers a more diversified shopping experience.
