China is ready to work with Latin American and Caribbean countries to respond to global changes through unity and cooperation and pursue development and prosperity through mutually beneficial collaboration, Foreign Minister Wang Yi said on Tuesday.

The move aims to deliver benefits to both peoples and beyond, ushering in a brighter future for the community with a shared future between China and LAC countries, Wang said during the fourth ministerial meeting of the China—Community of Latin American and Caribbean States Forum in Beijing.

He noted that leaders of China and LAC countries have reached broad consensus, charting the course and providing strategic guidance for the long-term development of China—LAC relations.

Wang called for mutual support for core interests, adding that China firmly supports LAC countries in safeguarding independence and autonomy, and exploring development paths suited to their national realities.

Beijing expects continued strong support from LAC countries for the one-China principle, he stressed.

Wang reaffirmed China's commitment to deepening practical cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative and the Global Development Initiative.

China proposed working with LAC countries to implement the Global Security Initiative, with joint efforts in such areas as combating terrorism and strengthening cybersecurity cooperation, he said.

Wang also called for expanded cultural and people-to-people exchanges and joint efforts to uphold true multilateralism and promote reform of global governance based on fairness and inclusiveness.

Foreign ministers from CELAC member countries praised the China–CELAC Forum for its significant role in advancing South–South cooperation and reaffirmed their strong desire to deepen ties with China, especially in light of global challenges and the complex international situation.

They hope to make full use of the forum, seize the new opportunities presented by China's high-quality development, learn from China's successful experience, and expand all-round cooperation to achieve mutual benefit and win-win results.

Describing China as a global force for peace and stability, they reaffirmed commitment to the one-China principle and expressed willingness to jointly uphold the basic norms governing international relations and multilateralism.

A Beijing declaration and a joint action plan for key areas of cooperation (2025–2027) were adopted at the meeting.
