China seeks stronger cooperation with Venezuela to uphold intl justice


China hopes to collaborate with Venezuela and other Latin American countries to stand against bullying and uphold international justice, Foreign Minister Wang Yi told visiting Venezuelan Foreign Minister Yvan Gil on Monday.
During their meeting in Beijing, ahead of the fourth ministerial meeting of the China-Community of Latin American and Caribbean States Forum, Wang said China appreciates Venezuela's firm commitment to national development through self-reliance.
China hopes to strengthen cooperation with Venezuela to uphold multilateralism and shared interests of developing countries, he said.
Wang called on both sides to advance bilateral cooperation in agriculture, trade, energy and the mining industry, saying China welcomes more imports of high-quality Venezuelan products.
China will strengthen exchanges on governance experience with Venezuela, and assist the Latin American country to follow a development path that suits its own conditions, Wang said.
China appreciates Venezuela's support for the construction of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States and its active participation in the China-CELAC Forum, Wang also said, adding that China hopes to work with Latin American countries to plan future development.
Gil said Venezuela is satisfied and proud of the development of its relations with China.
China plays an important role in upholding international rules, including the Charter of the United Nations, and Venezuela supports China's just position firmly, Gil said.
