Egyptian exhibit launches national tour in Chengdu

The blockbuster exhibit On Top of the Pyramid: The Civilization of Ancient Egypt launched the first stop of its national tour on Thursday at the Du Fu Thatched Cottage Museum in Chengdu, Sichuan province.

The ongoing exhibit at the Shanghai Museum, arguably the largest showcase of ancient Egyptian civilization in Asia, features 788 artifacts from across ancient Egyptian history.

The four-day Chengdu stop of the Pharaoh's Quest for Intangible Heritage, jointly presented by the Du Fu Thatched Cottage Museum, Shanghai Museum, and Trip.com Group, integrates ancient Egyptian culture with innovative displays of Sichuan's intangible cultural heritage.
