Thirty-two Liberian public health workers will take part in a two-week training in public health in China, as part of the ongoing cooperation between China and Liberia aimed at strengthening Liberia's healthcare system.

The seminar is scheduled to take place in Chengdu, Sichuan province, from May 9 to 22. It is aimed to provide Liberian health professionals with exposure to international best practices and innovations in public health. The health professionals departed Liberia on Wednesday.

Teyah S. Moore, assistant minister for curative health at the Liberian Ministry of Health, said that the government is committed to improving workforce development through global partnerships.

Moore said that the seminar will help provide Liberians with valuable insights into China's health systems and regulatory standards, expressing hope that the professionals will return with knowledge and skills to improve the delivery of healthcare in Liberia.

He stated that the seminar will focus on four essential areas, including knowledge sharing, healthcare technology, software applications in medical services, and health regulations. He expressed optimism that the Liberians at the seminar would also engage with Chinese health officials and tour major medical facilities as part of the broader effort to enhance bilateral collaboration.
