Qatar, Egypt confirm ongoing mediation efforts on Gaza

DOHA -- Qatar and Egypt reaffirmed on Wednesday that their joint mediation efforts in the Gaza conflict remain ongoing and coordinated, according to a joint statement issued by Qatar's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The statement emphasized that the mediation is grounded in a unified vision aimed at ending the unprecedented humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip and alleviating the suffering of civilians by paving the way for a comprehensive ceasefire.
The statement stressed that the attempts to sow division through doubt, distortion, or media escalation will not succeed and "will not deter us from our joint efforts to end the war and its resulting humanitarian catastrophe."
Both countries reiterated their full commitment to working within a clear and focused framework centered on easing human suffering and reinforcing calm to achieve a permanent solution.
The statement further affirmed that Qatar and Egypt "will not be drawn into any internal dynamics or side agendas that do not serve the interests of the Palestinian people."
The two countries also noted that their mediation efforts are being closely coordinated with the United States to reach an agreement that ends the "humanitarian tragedy" and ensures the protection of civilians.
