Belarus president vows to inflict irreparable damage on any potential aggressor

MINSK - Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said his country has the resources to inflict irreparable damage on any potential aggressor.
The Belarusian leader took part in a ceremonial meeting dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Great Patriotic War on Tuesday in Minsk.
In his speech, Lukashenko stressed that Belarusians are the heirs of the victors and will be able to give a worthy rebuff to the enemy. "If someone else's boot steps on our border, the response will be lightning fast," he said, adding that he, more than anyone else, does not want war.
The president also said that the current anniversary of the Great Victory is being celebrated at a difficult time. "We have become witnesses and participants in a new, most brutal redivision of the world," he said.
Lukashenko said he believes this is the peak moment of another turn in history that began 80 years ago.
