The inaugural meeting of the Uzbekistan–China Working Group on "Green" Minerals was held on April 24 at the Hilton Hotel in Tashkent, marking a new phase of bilateral cooperation focused on supporting the global green transition, according to Uzbekistan's embassy in China. The meeting brought together senior representatives from Uzbekistan's Ministry of Mining and Geology, the Uzbekistan Technological Metals Company (UzTMK), and China's Ministry of Commerce.

Discussions centered on strategic raw materials critical to the renewable energy, electric mobility and high-tech industries. Both parties underscored the importance of expanding cooperation in geological exploration, resource identification, and the development of industrial capacities for extracting and processing key technological metals.

The Chinese delegation commended Uzbekistan's ongoing reforms, favorable investment environment and policy transparency. They expressed strong interest in deepening partnerships and exploring future joint ventures in the green economy sector.

UzTMK's recent delegation to China resulted in a series of agreements aimed at deepening cooperation across various technological fields. The partnerships reflect a growing synergy between Uzbekistan's mineral wealth and China's technological expertise.

At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides reaffirmed their commitment to advancing cooperation across the entire green minerals value chain. The partnership is poised to contribute significantly to both countries' energy transition goals, as well as broader global sustainability efforts.
