Yuan strengthens against greenback

The central parity rate of the Chinese currency renminbi, or the yuan, strengthened 23 pips to 7.2043 against the US dollar on Monday, according to the China Foreign Exchange Trade System.

China's lottery sales up 4.7% in March

China's lottery ticket sales rose 4.7 percent year-on-year to 58.22 billion yuan ($8.08 billion) in March, data from the Ministry of Finance showed. Sales of lottery tickets to support the country's welfare system reached 19.2 billion yuan last month, marking an increase of 1.7 percent from a year earlier.
