Recently, with the necessary vector tests of the protection for Main Transformers #1 and #2, and the 110-kilovolt bus differential protection at the 110-kilovolt Yingshang substation of State Grid Fuyang Power Supply Company, it marks the full completion and commissioning of the upgrading and renovation project of the 110-kilovolt Yingshang substation. This "power heart" that has served Yingshang county in Fuyang city, Anhui province for nearly six decades has been rejuvenated through intelligent transformation, and the power supply reliability has been greatly improved. It provides a guaranteed power source for the high-quality development of the local economy and the improvement of people's livelihood quality.

It is reported that the 110-kilovolt Yingshang substation is located in the town of Shencheng, Yingshang county. Beginning its operation in 1967, it is the first 110-kilovolt substation in Fuyang city. Over the years, it has been undertaking the power supply task for the urban area of Yingshang county and has played a crucial role in serving the local economic and social development. However, with the rapid development of the city and the rapid growth of electricity demand, issues such as the aging of the equipment at the Yingshang substation, the relatively small capacity of the main transformers and the few 10-kilovolt outgoing line intervals have become increasingly prominent.

In recent years, the urban area of Yingshang county, Fuyang city has entered a period of rapid development. The entry of large commercial buildings such as Wuyue Plaza has led to a surge in the demand for commercial electricity. Newly built residential communities are continuously connected to the power grid, and the increasing demand for vehicle charging brought about by the popularization of electric vehicles has caused the electrical load to increase rapidly. The upgrading and renovation project of the 110-kilovolt Yingshang substation has increased the main transformer capacity from 80,000 kVA to 126,000 kVA, significantly enhancing the load-carrying capacity of the substation. Two 110-kilovolt outgoing line bays have been newly built, and a 110-kilovolt sectionalizing switch bay has also been newly constructed, greatly improving the power supply reliability of the Yingshang substation. At the same time, the number of 10-kilovolt outgoing line bays has been expanded from the original 9 to 28, which can remarkably enhance the carrying capacity of the distribution network and provide a solid guarantee for the connection of industrial and commercial users.

In addition, this project employs a number of advanced technologies, including intelligent substation inspection, independent and controllable technologies etc. In particular, the online monitoring technology of dual-link export hard pressure plates can achieve full-volume collection of key protection information such as protection setting values, hard and soft pressure plates, analog quantities and the operation status of devices through digital means. This greatly improves the operation and maintenance efficiency as well as the management quality and effectiveness of the power grid, laying a foundation for the intelligent and digital transformation of the power grid.

After the 110-kilovolt Yingshang substation is put into operation, State Grid Fuyang Power Supply Company will accelerate the construction of the supporting 10-kilovolt project, further optimize the grid structure of the distribution network, improve the power supply reliability in the urban area, and provide a reliable power guarantee for the local economic development and the electricity consumption of residents.
