Azerbaijani president to start visit at Xi's invitation
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev will make a state visit to China from Tuesday to Thursday at the invitation of President Xi Jinping.
During the visit, Xi will hold talks with Aliyev to draw up a new blueprint for the development of China-Azerbaijan relations. Premier Li Qiang and National People's Congress Standing Committee Chairman Zhao Leji will meet separately with the Azerbaijani president, Foreign Ministry spokesman Guo Jiakun said.
Guo told a regular news conference on Monday that it is believed that the visit will further deepen the strategic partnership between China and Azerbaijan and bring more benefits to the peoples of the two countries.
Vice-premier: China, UAE set model of Sino-Arab ties
Vice-Premier Ding Xuexiang co-chaired the first meeting of the China-UAE High-Level Investment Cooperation Committee on Monday with Vice-President of the United Arab Emirates Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, via video link.
During the meeting, Ding hailed the sound development of the bilateral ties, saying that the two countries have set a model for relations between China and Arab states in the new era.
Highlighting the role of the committee in facilitating bilateral cooperation, he expressed China's willingness to work with the UAE to enhance the scale and efficiency of investment cooperation and elevate the China-UAE comprehensive strategic partnership to new heights.
Ding also underlined the need for both countries to leverage the vital role of their enterprises in promoting cooperation and encourage them to actively expand areas of cooperation, innovate collaboration methods, and deepen investment collaboration.
Sheikh Mansour expressed his high appreciation for UAE-China relations as well as his strong confidence in the Chinese economy. The UAE is willing to enhance investment cooperation with China and further leverage the complementary advantages of both nations to seek shared prosperity, he said.
