Glinting Light: An Exploration of Luo Bonian's Photography, an ongoing exhibition at the Three Shadows Photography Art Centre in Beijing, marks the first solo exhibition in China for Luo Bonian (1911-2002), a prominent photographer from the Republic of China era (1911-49).

The show, supported by the Luo Bonian Art Foundation and Three Shadows +3 Gallery, and curated by Hu Jiawen, premiered at the 2024 Jimei x Arles International Photography Festival in Xiamen, East China's Fujian province. The show will travel to the Tate Modern in the UK in December to be part of the Global Pictorialism group exhibition.

Focusing on Luo's photographic journey from 1930 to 1940, the exhibition showcases nearly 100 silver gelatin originals exhibiting his unique artistic style. His works include human landscapes, experimental collages, and still-life arrangements, reflecting his mastery of photography and insights into life and art. The exhibition also features his learning materials, such as imported books and film boxes, magazines with his works, and personal photos with family and friends. An interview with his granddaughter, Luo Hangyan, provides a multidimensional view of his artistic world.
