China has raised serious concerns regarding the malicious cyber activities disclosed in a report issued by Chinese institutes, Foreign Ministry spokesman Guo Jiakun said on Thursday.

The National Computer Virus Emergency Response Center and the National Engineering Laboratory for Computer Virus Prevention and Control Technology issued a report on Thursday detailing cybersecurity threats targeting the ninth Asian Winter Games in Harbin, Northeast China's Heilongjiang province, from Feb 7 to 14.

The report disclosed cyberattacks from countries, including the United States, on the games information systems and critical information infrastructures in Heilongjiang, and said it highly suspects that the attacks were related to the US government.

The report once again shows that China is one of the major victims of cyberattacks across the world, and that the US and its individual allies were the main source of cyberattacks targeting China during the games, Guo said at a regular news conference.

"China urges the US to adopt a responsible attitude, and take a harder look at itself, rather than vilifying others," Guo said, adding that China will continue to take necessary measures to protect its own cybersecurity.
