In a move to eliminate safety hazards such as bird nests and tree barriers, on March 24, the State Grid Anyang Power Supply Company in Henan province launched a special inspection and remediation action for transmission lines, making every effort to safeguard reliable electricity for residents.

"Today's key task is to conduct a comprehensive inspection of the transmission lines using acoustic imaging equipment, while also carrying out bird nest removal and clearing tree barriers near the lines. All tasks related to the lines are equally important and safety is paramount," a staff member said.

To ensure the safe and stable operation of the power grid, the company has adopted measures, such as the inspection of areas with frequent bird activity and a high incidence of tree barrier hazards, to eliminate potential risks at an early stage.

The company has divided responsibility areas and strengthened dynamic monitoring by organizing multiple teams to conduct detailed inspections of the jurisdictional lines, covering key parts such as poles, insulators and conductors to ensure the timely detection of hazards.

Through a combination of human and drone inspection, in which drones were used to accurately locate bird nests and tree barrier hazards, the efficiency of the inspection process has improved.

The company said that it will further strengthen the operation and management of the power grid, enhance equipment maintenance quality, increase inspection frequency and intensity, eliminate line and equipment hazards, and build a solid defense to ensure the stable operation of the power grid.
