Premier urges realizing Govt Work Report goals to drive development
Premier Li Qiang presided over the eighth plenary meeting of the State Council on Friday, emphasizing the need to fully implement the goals and tasks outlined in this year's Government Work Report to drive economic and social development.
Efforts should be focused on a number of key initiatives, including taking targeted measures to boost consumption, promoting the transformation and upgrade of manufacturing, and expanding high-level opening-up, Li said.
Due to this year's circumstances, he urged adoption of more proactive macroeconomic policies, deeper reforms and improvements to the legal and credit environment, while also encouraging greater initiative among market entities.
Vice-premier calls for aligning development strategies with Laos
Efforts should be made to align development strategies between China and Laos to bring greater benefits to both countries and their peoples, Vice-Premier Ding Xuexiang said on Friday during a meeting with Lao Foreign Minister Thongsavanh Phomvihane in Beijing.
As socialist comrades and brothers, both nations should earnestly implement the important consensus reached by the top leaders of their respective parties and countries, strengthen high-level exchanges and deepen political mutual trust, Ding said.
He called for advancing construction of the China-Laos Economic Corridor, improving the quality and efficiency of the China-Laos Railway and expanding cooperation in artificial intelligence and the digital economy.
Thongsavanh reaffirmed Laos' firm support for China in safeguarding its core interests and expressed a willingness to deepen comprehensive and practical cooperation with China.
