Tunnel work completed on Jinhua-Jiande Rail

All 22 tunnel projects on the Jinhua-Jiande Railway have been completed as the 6.1-kilometer Chayeping Tunnel — the line's longest — was bored through on Tuesday. The 64.5-km railway, with a maximum operating speed of 250 kilometers per hour, will link Jinhua and Jiande, both in Zhejiang province, integrating the region full of major attractions into major rail networks, said China Railway 24th Bureau Group Corp, a State builder participating in the railway's construction.

Yuan strengthens against greenback

The central parity rate of the Chinese currency renminbi, or the yuan, strengthened 6 pips to 7.1739 against the US dollar on Tuesday, according to the China Foreign Exchange Trade System.
