State Grid Kuitun Power Supply Company: Electricity safety class lights up new school semester

"Dear students, have any of you ever put a charging mobile phone under your pillow or quilt? Who knows what potential safety hazards this may cause?" Feb 19 was the first day of the new semester at the No 10 Middle School in Kuitun. As a boarding school for the Inner-Primary School Class in Kuitun, the safety of electricity use on campus and in dormitories is paramount to the daily wellbeing of all teachers and students. Therefore, the members of the Communist Party Member Service Team of the State Grid Kuitun Power Supply Company carefully prepared a unique "First Class of the New Semester", to vividly and interestingly explain information about safe electricity use to teachers and students, and build a solid defense line for electricity safety at the beginning of the new semester.

In the class, members of the Communist Party Member Service Team analyzed "incorrect" electricity-usage cases to show students the common dangerous electricity-usage behaviors in daily life. They also explained how to correctly use sockets and switches, and how to identify aged and damaged wires, guiding them to enhance self-protection awareness and master safe methods of electricity use. In the face of students' questions, the team members patiently answered them one by one. Through on-site demonstrations, they enabled everyone to intuitively understand the serious consequences that incorrect electricity-usage behaviors might bring.

In addition, the members of the service team also carefully prepared a hands-on cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) session. They explained in detail to the students the basic methods of first aid for electric shock victims, and demonstrated the basic operations and key points of chest compressions and artificial respiration. Many students stepped forward to experience these procedures. With active participation, they reinforced the knowledge of electrical safety in a relaxed and conducive atmosphere.

It is reported that at the start of every semester, the company will visit the primary and secondary schools in its jurisdiction to carry out popular science publicity activities on safe electricity use, popularize electricity-related knowledge, and create a strong atmosphere of safe, scientific and energy-saving electricity use.
